Wedding Memories Shadowbox Keepsake
DIY Shadow Box for Wedding Memories
Today is my one year anniversary with my beloved husband! I can't believe how quickly the year passed. Our wedding memories are still as clear as if it were yesterday.
To preserve the memories, I held onto a few of the delightful details and put them into a shadow box. This lovely keepsake is a perfect way to commemorate one year since our best day ever.
Inside the Shadow Box
The few details I held onto for my shadow box represented our best wedding memories.
- A few dried stems from my bridal bouquet
- My husband's boutonniere
- My hair piece
- Fabric swatches from my bridesmaid's dresses
- Our invitation and save the date
- Paper flowers from our centerpieces
- A couple strands from the dot garland that decorated our sweetheart table
All of these elements are thoughtfully arranged onto the shadow box board and secured with crafting pins.
I love that these little details from our wedding day will forever be kept, not only for me, but also for my future family. I can't wait to show my daughter this shadow box and share with her all of the wedding memories that come with each detail.
Of course, you're not marrying your centerpieces or your invitations. Weddings are about the memories you create on that day with the people you love. Each of these tiny reminders bring back so many great feelings and emotions.
Like the moment I walked into the ceremony and saw my husband at the end of the aisle. How everything faded away. It was just us.
Or the countless hours I spent leading up to our wedding day on planning and DIY projects. Painstakingly threading each dot on the garland with my mother and mother-in-law. Crafting hundreds of paper flowers with my bridal party and other friends. Agonizing over every detail.
All of it was worth it.
I can't wait to spend many more years with my husband and collect more memories along the way.
